Product Innovation & Compliance Executive

Position Overview
Responsible for driving product innovation and ensuring all new and existing food products comply with food safety, Halal, and regulatory requirements. This role involves developing new product concepts, conducting trials, documenting results, and supporting compliance for audits and certifications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Innovation
Develop and test new product concepts aligned with market trends.
Improve existing recipes for taste, cost-efficiency, and shelf life.
Conduct product trials, sensory testing, and collect consumer feedback.
Work with Marketing on product claims, packaging design, and nutrition facts.
2. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with Halal, HACCP, ISO, and MeSTI requirements.
Prepare and maintain supporting documents:
Formulation Sheets
Trial Reports
Nutritional Analysis
Shelf-life Study Reports
Ingredient Specifications & Halal Declarations
Assist in Halal Assurance System (HAS) review and improvement.
Support external audits by JAKIM, KKM, and certification bodies.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with Production for product scale-up from lab to factory.
Work with QA/QC to set product specifications and testing protocols.
Liaise with suppliers for new raw material sourcing and technical info.
Collaborate with Sales & Marketing for product launches.
4. Continuous Improvement
Research market trends (healthy snacks, functional food, sustainability).
Recommend new packaging or ingredient solutions for cost savings.
Support sustainability initiatives (eco-friendly packaging, waste reduction).
Key Competencies & Skills
Degree/Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, Halal, HACCP, GMP.
Skilled in product development, formulation, and sensory evaluation.
Strong documentation and compliance mindset.
Creative thinker with problem-solving skills.
KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
Number of successful new products developed & launched.
Timely completion of trials and documentation.
Zero non-conformance in audits (Halal, HACCP, ISO, MeSTI).
Cost savings through process or formulation improvements.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 9.00 am – 6.00 pm
Saturday: Half-day (if required for operation or testing)
