The role in a nutshell

The role is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to be part of a global cryptocurrency business. In Malaysia, with Luno owning more than 90% of the market share, this is a perfect opportunity to join the largest regulated digital asset exchange in Malaysia. Business Analysts conduct market analyses, analyse business metrics, product lines and growth initiatives to support the countries team to achieve overall profitability of the business. You will be based in the Kuala Lumpur office, and work directly with the General Manager (SEA) and Country Managers in the region to excel in your mission.

Your mission will involve

- Generate and update business metrics, conduct detailed analysis and provide feedback on the business's growth metrics — including key items like conversion funnel (users signup to transaction), marketing spending (such as cost per acquisition), trading volume, and revenue — on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.

- Based on the analysis, you will identify potential issues, conduct investigation, and validate the problems that you've identified by collaborating with General Managers, business specialists, Country Managers / Leads. You will also be required to perform product testing on the ground where necessary.

- You will coordinate with the General Manager, Country Managers, and other business functions to ensure that the business solutions/recommendations are implemented within agreed timelines.

- You will support growth initiatives in the region, including in the aspects of research, coordination, completion and analysis of a project. For example, you will provide support in data analysis for ongoing marketing projects (calculating Customer's Return of Investment, Lifetime Value, Luno Rewards point calculation etc) every month.

- Support the local team in gathering customer feedback from customers in the region in any growth initiatives within the region as well as to support/validate problems that's identified via data analytics.

- Conduct any ad hoc research & sourcing work to support Luno's business in the region.

The ideal Lunaut will have:

- At least 3-5 years of actuarial, market / business analyst, business intelligence / consulting / strategy or related experience

- Preferably a degree in economics, finance, actuarial science, computer science, IT, data science, decision science or similar fields

- Advanced Excel skills

- A track record of producing high quality market analysis that support business decisions

- Is extremely data driven, and loves to work with numbers.

- The ability to work with remote teams across time zones and foster a collaborative and creative work environment

- To be a clear communicator: with the ability to synthesise a lot of information quickly, highlight the key takeaways, and disseminate actionable insights

- Preferably a basic knowledge of how crypto-currencies like Bitcoin work, and enthusiasm to promote cryptocurrencies

- Is resourceful, independent and can get things done.
